Should I take LPN course or not?

I live in an area where there are close to none if any opportunity employment wise. There is a LPN program that's is a little over a year to complete. I'm thinking of taking it but wanted to know what is the average salary for LPNs, how hard is the LPN course being that it is only a year long, just basically someone that is already in the field and who has taken the course and could give some advice.
