Im looking for an old story i once heard of a snake biting its tail and pics!! can anyone help?

a few years back i heard a story of a person that was having a rough time with there life and heading down a path of self destruction. in the story a person that cared for them gave them an old story about a certain type of snake that was known to be aggressive to the point that when it seen its own tail it would attack it thinking another snake was fallowing it. it would bite its own tail and when feeling the bite thought the other snake was also attacking it, and for years would bite harder until it realized that it was only hurting its self and in the end is stronger and wiser. i would like to get my hands on that story or a similar one and a good pic of a snake biting its tail and another of one flexing its biceps. the story i read had both pics on it. hope someone can help.
