Nurse, Doctor, or something else in health care?

I'm currently working on a degree as a Medical istant and I'll probably go for my LPN eventually. Med ts get about $12 p/h, LPN's get no less than $17 p/h, yet if I'd just gone straight to my LPN I would not have a degree. I'm getting a DEGREE as a medical istant, more extensive schooling and will be making nearly half the pay of an LPN. Go figure. I don't want the responsibility of an RN, not worth the schooling or the pay to me......
