Question for Lost fans?

I just got hooked on Lost and got the first season at Blockbuster and watched it. It's on 4 hrs Monday night on Sci Fi but I'm not home on Monday nights. Anyway, I'm on the 2nd disc of Season 2 and I'm losing interest a bit. It's not as captivating as the first season was. Right now the people on the raft are prisoners of the "others" and Jack and company are pushing that stupid on in the hatch. Please tell me this going somewhere and they don't spend the next few seasons constantly pushing that on? Should I keep watching?
